Please note: This role is Fixed term co-terminus with Mayor of the West Midlands term of office
We are looking for a politically astute, hard working and dedicated person to join the small Mayoral team in the West Midlands Combined Authority. You’ll be responsible for supporting the team deliver and will be given some projects of your own to get your teeth into!
About the team
Andy Street is the Mayor of the West Midlands. The Mayoral office is a small team of less than ten people who work very close together to deliver results for the West Midlands. The team all works directly with the Mayor and has close, daily interaction with him.
Who we are
The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is a strategic authority working with partners to deliver a stronger West Midlands, with a focus on skills, innovation, transport, economic development and regeneration. Individual Councils and Local Enterprise Partnerships will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.
This is an exciting time for the West Midlands – the Commonwealth Games will be here in 2022, the arrival of HS2 will help make us a world class business location and a new £350m housing deal aims to deliver 215,000 new homes by 2031.

Who are we looking for
We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who will be responsible for timely, responsive and high-quality PA support to the Mayor’s Team. You will be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and successfully deliver specific projects as requested by the Chief of Staff. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a high profile, sensitive environment and be able to manage their own workload along with the portfolio of others.
