WMG’s Supply Chain Research Group are recruiting for two new project engineers to work on their ‘Building Back Better’ and ‘Supply Chain Resilience Hub’ programmes.
Building Back Better is an ambitious new supply-chain enhancement programme designed to create a step change in the performance of UK manufacturing. By bringing together a cohort of businesses within a supply-chain, Building Back Better will improve the productivity, resilience and sustainability of the whole supply chain.
When a supply chain is disrupted, it is only as strong as its weakest link. Given the recent events of Covid-19 and Brexit, it is now more evident than ever that UK supply chains must be prepared to respond to and recover quickly from these and other types of disruptions. In order to strengthen the UK’s high-value manufacturing base, the Supply Chain Research Group at WMG is launching the Supply Chain Resilience Hub powered by High Value Manufacturing Catapult, which will develop, grow, and anchor supply chain capability and resilience in the UK by leveraging fundamental and applied supply chain research knowledge.
The ideal candidates will have a background in one or more of the following:
– Supply-chain management or Engineering Business management
– Project management
– Continuous improvement
– Workshop delivery
– Change management
You should be able to:
– Communicate clearly with the ability to present complex issues in a simple
and logical way, from boardroom to technician
– Apply your experience to complex supply-chain problems
– Balance the conflicting needs of multiple stakeholders
– Work at pace in an agile environment
– Be adaptable
This role is an ideal stepping stone to supply chain or strategy consultancy, and longer term opportunities within WMG (dependent on future funding).
In return we will provide a great range of benefits which include an attractive pension scheme, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas closure, some fantastic savings on a wide range of products and services, and excellent learning and development opportunities.
At WMG we are committed to supporting staff to achieve their potential. We currently hold the Athena SWAN Silver Award and the University of Warwick also holds an Institutional Silver Award: a national initiative that recognises the advancement of gender equality, representation, progression and success for all in academia. We are supportive of staff with caring responsibilities including a generous maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave policy, and onsite childcare facilities. We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
Closing date: 4 weeks from advert
