Third Thursday: “Innovation: What’s in it for us?”
July 18, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Are you working in a business, the public sector, the academic sector, or another organisation? How do enterprising activities and innovation help you increase productivity and growth?
As the world is changing in fundamental ways, innovation is transforming how we live and work. The proportion of the older population in our societies are growing, the way we use energy is changing rapidly, and societies, in general, are becoming more globalised.
We are in need of finding ways where we can harness our strengths, address our weaknesses, and create new opportunities. We want to connect all key players; including small-medium enterprises, large corporates, thought leaders, local authorities, the government, academia and research institutions, in order to create enterprising activities that can promote collaboration that drives new innovative outputs. This, in turn, fosters growth in jobs, new research commercialisation opportunities, new product, processes and services, business growth, and places to be more connected to drive economic growth and global productivity. Our dream is to see citizens embrace and benefit from the opportunity of new innovative solutions and to enjoy prosperous lives with fulfilling work and high-quality public services.
In this talk, we will explore how we can help every part of the UK with investment in skills, infrastructure and industries of the future, and then expose that knowledge to other parts of the world. We will explore how key players in societies can create an innovative economy by focusing on the key foundation of productivity and growth. We will close with having your say on what you think your contributions may be in creating innovation and growth for your society.
