Accelerating the Transition | The role of Finance and Digitalisation and featuring The 1st Future Cities Exchange

Our Summit will be comprised of two parts. In the morning, we will hold an Exchange on Future Cities.

In the evening, we will draw attention to our more classic style Forum for Sustainable Business, which will focus on ‘Accelerating the Transition’.

The BSCC Sustainable Business Summit is back: bigger and better than ever. Building on the Clean Growth Summit (2020) and the 1st Sustainable business Summit (2021) our spirit of Innovation comes to life in a new 2 part event at SIX Convention Point in Zürich on 4th October 2022.

Businesses are facing unprecedented risks and challenges, be it social, economic, or environmental. This requires us to rethink, reframe collaboration and put sustainability at the core of business. No more is it the case that we operate in a business as usual capacity but instead we must find ways to embrace the new. The BSCC is committed to playing its part, and this is why we are offering a new event concept that will be interactive, and will both challenge and stimulate thoughts and actions.

Both our morning and evening session’s key themes will challenge your way of thinking. Our speakers will be diverse and ready for action and we look forward to our audience matching this energy.

You have a couple of options to join our fantastic event.  You are invited to book:

  • The Morning Exchange on the ‘Future Cities’ | 08:30 – 13:00

  • The Evening Forum on ‘Accelerating the Transition’ | 17:00 – 21:00

We encourage you to book both sessions to get the full experience.

The evening forum will focus on ‘Accelerating the Transition’ . The pace of change is rapid and is only going to accelerate further. For business, this means taking action to meet consumer demands, future-proofing their business models, and ultimately contributing to a more sustainable future for all. Already we see the tangible impacts on the costs of finance and on customer and employee retention for businesses who are slow to act. Transformation is necessary to thrive and two of the big levers to accelerate the transition are finance and digitalisation.

Main topics:

✓ Recent developments and the size of the challenge ahead

✓ Finance as a cornerstone of the transition

✓ What to expect from COP 27?

✓ The twin roles of finance and digital as accelerators

✓ Investment time horizons, catalysts for behaviour change and new investment opportunities

✓The role of Digitalisation as a Catalyst: New business models, IoT, Data & Analytics

With a special morning feature –  THE FUTURE CITIES EXCHANGE

Cities offer many opportunities to accelerate the transition: being one of the largest emission sources but also the place where behaviour change with business and individuals will happen. The Future Cities Exchange creates a deep dialogue that can ultimately lead to business model innovation and new business ecosystems.

Main topics:

✓ What is the future path cities, citizens and business will face?

✓ Decarbonising cities: what does it mean for different types of business?

✓ Sustainable consumption & business model innovation: How are these consumption patterns going to impact business?

✓ Current status on sustainability and circular economy and future trends
