Solving Manufacturing Productivity Challenges in Northern Ireland using Robotics & Artificial Intelligence
Background
The current rise in operating costs has a direct and negative impact on the bottom line and productivity of many businesses. Skills and labour shortages, energy costs, material costs and the real costs of waste are common and critical themes impacting many companies in Northern Ireland at the moment. But if these are the challenges, then how can Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) help businesses find the solution and make them more competitive?
About the event
Innovate UK KTN is collaborating with Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI) to run a series of virtual and live workshops with the purpose of facilitating cross-sector knowledge exchange, and encouraging the adoption of Robotics and AI across manufacturing companies in Northern Ireland.
Through these events, Innovate UK KTN will connect the manufacturing businesses to the most suitable technology and knowledge providers, in order to explore the possible ways that each participating business can use Robotics and AI to increase their productivity and profitability. The workshop series will aim to support businesses through the three steps of an adoption journey:
- Developing the companies’ understanding of their business challenges, robotics/AI technology and identifying the right support to help them
- Developing collaborations between companies, academic research and technology providers
- Developing a solution for the company with real productivity benefits.
Who is the event for?
Manufacturing companies in Northern Ireland active in any industry sector, that:
- Are interested in adopting Robotics and/or AI
- Have started the process of adopting Robotics and/or AI but need additional support in expanding/taking next steps
- Have adopted Robotics and/or AI and have learned valuable lessons that could benefit the wider community.
Please note that only businesses operating or having offices in Northern Ireland will be eligible for this event. Academia/universities are out of scope for this activity.
