Autonomous vehicles, drones and other disruptive technologies will soon become the new normal. Are we ready to live in the Automatic City?

The car revolution of the 20th Century transformed cities in an unprecendented way. Their form mutated rapidly, and so did the behaviour of their inhabitants. Today we are on the verge of a similar revolution.

Autonomous vehicles, drones for passenger and cargo transport and other disruptive technologies will become the new normal in the near future. Artificial intelligence and Big Data will be in the driving seat and will move people and goods from A to B.

How will streets, highways, public spaces and buildings accommodate these innovations? What are the opportunities (and threats) of the next metamorphosis of transport networks? Are we ready to live in the Automatic City?
