Fluxx Exchange Breakfast: The Great Transport Hack
March 24, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 pm
About this Event
We’re hosting a breakfast forum for cross-industry leaders and experts to talk openly about the future of mobility.
Advancing technology, changing human need and behaviour, and increasing environmental concerns have collided to create a global evolution of transport.
The emergence of ride-hailing, car-sharing and micromobility hints at some of the speed bumps between today’s modes of transportation and more futuristic means, like AVs and flying cars. Entire industries face disruption in this new mobility world, perhaps none so thoroughly as automotive.
The road to the future promises to be long, chaotic and complex. Despite the universal scale of change that is needed, transportation requirements are also very local – even individual – which we believe brings the need for highly effective collaboration between worldwide monolithic brands, international and complex businesses alongside smaller government bodies and borough councils.
For example, Transport for London has already vowed that all taxis in the City will be electric by 2033 and the UK government has ploughed half a billion pounds into testing connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs). All this with a view that autonomous vehicles could be on London’s roads as soon as 2021, but to actually make this happen will require the efforts of many diverse companies with a variety of capabilities.
