Successful 5G AV trial leads to Conigital showcasing at BT’s Robotic Festival..

Conigital, a British driverless vehicle company, automating the way people and goods move will be showcasing its driverless vehicle technology at BT’s infamous, world-renowned Robotics Festival at Adastral Park on Wednesday, November 23. Amazon’s Zoox Robotaxi Gets Even More Different With Thermal Cameras

Waabi announces ‘plug-and-play’ autonomous trucking solution

Waabi, the autonomous vehicle startup founded by former chief scientist at Uber’s Advanced Technology Group Raquel Urtasun, announced a new turnkey solution for semi truck manufacturers who want to transform their big rigs into robot trucks. The product, which is called Waabi Driver, is intended as a full-stack autonomy solution for semi truck OEMs. Read More

Ford and Volkswagen backed autonomous driving project Argo AI is shutting down

Ford announced that Argo AI, a promising self-driving car technology developer that raised billions of dollars from Ford and Volkswagen, is closing and dissolving. Ford blamed the project for its quarterly loss. Argo AI had been working on research and development of driver-assist systems as well as Level 4 autonomous driving technology since 2016. Read More

Geely reveals SEA-M platform for autonomous Waymo taxi

Californian self-driving vehicle maker Waymo has announced it will use Zeekr’s new SEA-M platform to underpin its first autonomous taxi. The platform is an adapted version of chinese giant Geely’s SEA architecture, as used in the Smart #1, Zeekr 001 shooting brake and Zeekr 009 MPV – and soon destined for an entry-level Volvo SUV. The taxi that sits atop it has been modified to create a “mobile living room”, said Zeekr. Read More

Smart-City firms announced for Export Academy to Asia-Pacific

30 British tech companies have been announced as the first participants in the Department for International Trade’s (DIT) new Tech Export Academy programme which will begin this week, according to Press Release by GOV.UKThe cohorts will participate in specialised sessions led by these partner companies on legal, tax, and regulatory challenges pertaining to the Asia Pacific area. Read More

UK tech companies go to Singapore

The third cohort of the Tech Nation International Growth Programme for Southeast Asia spent the week in Singapore to meet potential business partners, government agencies and experts on the ground accelerating their expansion plans for the Southeast Asia region. This funding is from Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation. Read More

Innovate UK Smart Grants: October 2022 – Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, will work with the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) to invest up to £16 million in innovation projects.
