A UK autonomous mobility service research project has started testing in London, where it will develop ways to help cities and ‘complex environments’ take advantage of new vehicle technologies. AutoX plans to begin testing in San Francisco

AutoX, a Chinese autonomous vehicle company that has made plays in both the U.S. and its home country, is now making a move into San Francisco, an area where its biggest competitors are creeping toward commercialization. The company, which has been testing its vehicles in the greater San Jose area since 2016, shared plans to launch robotaxi operations and build an operations center in the Golden City. Read More

Autonomous Movers Set for US Launch in 2024

Benteler EV Systems, Beep Inc., and Mobileye, an Intel Company, today announced a strategic collaboration to develop and deploy automotive-grade, fully electric, autonomous movers in public and private communities across North America. Musk pushes the boundaries in Tesla autonomous campaign

Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk often touts the arrival of completely autonomous vehicles as imminent, but exactly how close that future is for the electric automaker remains murky. Videos posted online by Tesla owners show an erratic performance in “FSD Beta,” latest update on Tesla’s driver-assistance system. Cars can be seen turning awkwardly, knocking down safety cones and lurching unexpectedly. Read More

Enabling Secure Authentication for Unmanned Aircraft Systems: February 23rd, 2022 – As part of the Future Flight Challenge programme, the consortium, composed of Angoka Ltd., Connected Places Catapult, and Cranfield University, has successfully developed and tested a trusted identification service and a tamper-resilient solution that prevents hackers from cyberattacks. The event aims to demonstrate technical implementation of the UAS Authorisation System showcasing secured communication resulting in safe UAS operations. Register Here

SafeMRX Showcase: February 24th, 2022 – Join this event on 24th February for presentations on how Minimum Risk Manoeuvres should contribute to AV safety. This event is a chance to hear from the project team about their proposals. Automotive Transformation Fund Feasibility Studies: Round 3 – APC is seeking proposals from single organisations or consortiums for business case feasibility studies up to the value of £1 million. UK-Singapore Collaborative R&D – Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, will invest up to £3 million in innovation projects in partnership with Enterprise Singapore. This competition has an open scope. The aim of this competition is to fund business led collaborative research and development (CR&D) projects focused on industrial research.
