Self-Driving Taxis Are Coming To Las Vegas In 2023, Says Lyft

The futuristic dream of self-driving cars is almost here, apparently. Autonomous driving company Motional and ride-hailing service Lyft have announced plans to roll out a commercial self-driving taxis service by 2023. Motional and ride-hailing service Lyft have been testing autonomous vehicles in Las Vegas for three years. Read More

You can now ride a futuristic self-driving shuttle bus for free near Toronto

A self-driving vehicle is now taking passengers in Whitby after weeks of testing and mapping. The battery-powered shuttle will now be cruising along a 6 km route near the Whitby GO Station, accommodating four people at a time. The WAVE shuttle loops through the Port Whitby neighbourhood, passing through residential, recreational and industrial areas. Read More

This new technology will allow autonomous cars to see hidden pedestrians and cyclists 

It is an ambitious project in a collaboration between the University of Sydney and Australian technology company Cohda Wireless and is funded by the Australian iMOVE Cooperative Research Center. This experimental system incorporates vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications. Read More

QCraft announces self-driving chip deal with Nvidia, setting course for mass production

QCraft will equip the next generation of its autonomous driving system with Nvidia’s Drive Orin processing chip. Nvidia claims the Drive Orin system-on-a-chip (SoC), unveiled in late 2019 and scheduled for shipping in 2022, is by far the “world’s highest-performance, most-advanced” processor for use in autonomous vehicles (AVs). Read More

Luminar Lidar Selected for NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion Autonomous Vehicle Reference Platform

Luminar Technologies, Inc., announce at the NVIDIA GTC conference that its lidar solution has been selected to be part of the sensor suite in the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion autonomous vehicle reference platform.
