Self-driving truck startup TuSimple files to go public

TuSimple, the self-driving truck company that is backed by a diverse consortium of strategic investors, including Volkswagen AG’s heavy-truck business The Traton Group, Navistar, Goodyear, and freight company U.S. Xpress, filed for an initial public offering. TuSimple is taking the traditional path to going public, a departure from the recent trend — particularly among electric and autonomous vehicle startups — to merge with a special purpose acquisition companies. Read More

ANA and Toyota test autonomous towing vehicle at Tokyo airport

All Nippon Airways, Japan’s largest airline, is partnering with Toyota Industries to conduct a test of the latest autonomous towing tractor in the restricted area at Tokyo Haneda Airport from March 29 to April 2, 2021. These trials be the first to take place at Haneda Airport. For this latest round of tests, Toyota Industries will introduce a newly developed autonomous towing tractor equipped with higher location tracking abilities. Read More 

Innoviz Launches Revolutionary Automotive Perception Platform

Innoviz Technologies, Ltd., a leading provider of high-performance, solid-state LiDAR sensors and perception software, announced today that it has released its highly anticipated Automotive Perception Platform – InnovizAPP for the automotive industry. This platform includes automotive-grade hardware and software that enable autonomous vehicles (AVs) to identify and classify objects. Read More

Self-driving truck startup Kodiak and China Hesai lidar partner up

Silicon Valley self-driving truck startup Kodiak Robotics Inc and Shanghai-based lidar maker Hesai Technology Co Ltd on Wednesday announced a partnership to integrate the Chinese lidar into the autonomous trucking system. Laser-based lidar sensors help self-driving cars detect objects ahead and around the vehicle and are a key component to many self-driving systems. Kodiak will use a Hesai lidar on each side of the truck. Read More

Nokia and ClearWorld partner for smart city applications

Nokia’s smart city solutions, based on Nokia Bell Labs Future X architecture, include intelligent, integrated city platforms that utilize 5G, industrial IoT and machine learning technologies to provide foundations for urban innovation. IETF energy efficiency and decarbonisation studies, Spring 2021- Organisations can apply for a share of up to £40 million to carry out feasibility and engineering studies into energy efficiency and decarbonisation technologies for industrial processes. IETF deployment of energy efficiency technologies, Spring 2021-  This competition aims to support the commercial roll out and permanent installation of technologies at industrial sites. This is the second round of the IETF Phase 1 competition. In this strand you must be an industrial business of any size to apply. You can apply on your own or in collaboration with other organisations.
