The US Department of Transportation (USDOT) has just published a new report which investigates the results of its 2019 Connected Vehicle (CV) and Automated Vehicle (AV) Survey, which show that more than half of surveyed agencies (54%) are actively engaged with CVs. Read More

AutoX rolls-out its first fleet of fully-driverless RoboTaxis in China

AutoX, the Alibaba-backed tech company which develops AI for autonomous vehicles,  announced on Thursday that it has rolled out fully driverless RoboTaxis on roads of downtown Shenzen. This makes the company the first to launch a fleet of autonomous vehicles which aren’t accompanied by safety drivers or remote operators in China. Read More

Fully-autonomous DRONE unveiled by US space startup will launch satellites into orbit

The world’s first satellite launching drone, developed by a US-based space startup, will will be able to carry a new payload into orbit every 180 minutes, the firm claims. Aevum says the massive 80ft long drone, named the Ravn X, is fully autonomous, 70 per cent reusable, and can take off and land on runways as short as a mile long. . Read More

NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin to power next generation of Einride autonomous Pods

Einride AB said today that the next generation of its Einride Pods will use NVIDIA Corp.’s DRIVE AGX Orin autonomous vehicle computing platform to handle high-speed, unmanned operations. The company said its Einride Pods are unmanned and 100% electric trucks intended to make freight transport more sustainable and cost-effective. The next-generation Autonomous Electric Transport, or AET vehicles, will have SAE Level 4 autonomy. Read More

The ‘fake city’ built especially for testing autonomous vehicles

Waymo, the autonomous vehicle subsidiary of Google’s parent company Alphabet, plans to reproduce real-world city driving conditions in an artificial environment built in Ohio, United States. This fake city will be used to test autonomous vehicles, driverless cars and trucks in a variety of urban scenarios. Read More
