Mercedes-Benz has decided to stop its efforts to develop and roll out a full self-driving solution for its passenger cars. Instead, the veteran automaker will be focusing on the creation of advanced driver-assist technology for its fleet of long-haul trucks. Read More

UPS has begun testing the suitability and durability of Gaussin electric vehicles, which also have autonomous driving capability, to move semi-trailers and containers on the grounds of UPS’s advanced-technology London Hub. Read More

Rolls-Royal and ASI Mining plan to optimize MTU engines for autonomous operations 

Rolls-Royce and ASI Mining have agreed to ensure compatibility of MTU engines and ASI’s Mobius command and control software for autonomous vehicles. The two partners have signed a Memorandum of Understanding enabling Rolls-Royce to offer autonomous-compatible, Mobius-ready MTU engine solutions for equipment in a wide range of mining applications. Taipei to operate autonomous shuttle in bus lanes

Taipei City Government and autonomous driving start-up Turing Drive will operate a regular autonomous driving shuttle service on dedicated bus lanes during off-peak hours from May 2020. It is part of a plan to validate autonomous driving technologies in the Taiwan capital city and look into the future possibilities of autonomous shuttles being a new public transport solution. MuCCA (Multi-Car Collision Avoidance) – 19th March The Multi-Car Collision Avoidance Project (MuCCA) has been a £4.6m, 30-month project funded by the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) via Innovate UK. As the project draws to a close, please join us at the final showcase to hear how the consortium consisting of, Applus Idiada, Connected Places Catapult, Cosworth, Cranfield University, Westfield Sportscars and SBD Automotive has developed a next-generation driver aid to avoid multi-car collisions on motorways. EV Battery Management Legal Workshop – 26th March With accelerating plans to phase out the sale of petrol and diesel vehicles, lithium-ion batteries (or LiBs) presently look to be the likely replacement for powering electric vehicles.
